Your work is good.
Your website should say so.

I'm Makenna. I build sites for local businesses that don't have one yet — or have one that's quietly costing them customers. Custom, built for phones first, and live in about two weeks.

Taking a small number of projects at a time. Free 20-minute call, no pitch deck.

Live in about two weeks

From our first call to launch day, most builds take ten to fourteen days. You'll know the date before we start.

Built for phones first

Most people will find you on a phone, in a parking lot, deciding whether to call. That's the screen I design for first.

You own all of it

The domain, the files, the photos, the login. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, you can — no hostage situations.

Who you're hiring

You'll be working with me. Just me.

No account managers, no ticket queue, no team overseas you never meet. You'll have my actual phone number. When you text me a new photo for the homepage on a Tuesday afternoon, I'm the one who puts it there.

I build for the businesses that do good work and have nothing online to prove it — the shop with four decades of regulars and no hours listed anywhere, the contractor whose whole marketing plan is a magnet on the truck door. You already have the hard part. The website is the easy part, and it should be handled by someone who treats it that way.

I take a handful of projects at a time so each one gets real attention. That's why there's an application instead of a "buy now" button — it's a short form, and it saves us both an hour if we're not a fit.

The shape of it

What yours could look like

Three layouts I build most often, sized to the way each kind of business actually gets found.

Sample

Trades & home services

Contractors, landscapers, HVAC, cleaning. Built around one job: getting the phone to ring. Service list, coverage area, before-and-afters, a call button that follows you down the page.

Sample

Cafés, shops & boutiques

Where the photos do the selling. Big imagery, menu or lookbook pages, hours and directions where people can actually find them, and a store attached if you want one.

Sample

By appointment

Salons, studios, clinics, consultants. Booking front and centre, a page per practitioner or service, and enough calm on the page to make someone trust you before they've met you.

Every build includes

The whole thing, not a starting point

No surprise add-ons at the end. These come with all three packages.

  • A design made for youDrawn around your business, not dropped into a template ten thousand other shops are using.
  • Phone, tablet and desktop layoutsChecked on real screens, not just resized in a browser window.
  • Words, written for youSend me voice memos if that's easier. I'll write the first draft and you tell me what's wrong.
  • Contact forms that reach your inboxPlus click-to-call and click-for-directions on every phone.
  • Google Business profile setupHours, photos, service area and map pin — the stuff that decides whether you show up in "near me".
  • Speed and SEO basicsCompressed images, clean page titles, a sitemap, and a site that loads before someone gives up.
  • Domain and hosting setupRegistered in your name, on your account, with the passwords handed to you.
  • A walkthrough at handoffA recorded screen-share showing you how to change your own hours, photos and prices.

Not included, and I'll tell you straight: logo design, professional photography, and ongoing ad management. I can point you to people I trust for all three.

Start to launch

Four steps, about an hour of your time

You run a business. I'll chase everything that can be chased without you.

01

Apply

A short form about your business and what you need. No budget games — the prices are already on this page.

About 4 minutes
02

Talk

A free call where we talk about your customers and your busiest season, not about web design. You'll leave with a fixed price and a launch date in writing.

20 minutes, free
03

Build

I design and build, then send you a private preview link. You click around, mark up anything that's off, and I fix it.

1–3 weeks
04

Launch

We go live, point your domain, submit you to Google, and I walk you through editing it yourself. Then the keys are yours.

Launch day

Pricing

One price, agreed before I start

Half to begin, half on launch day — card through Stripe, or cash. If the scope changes, we talk about it before anything is billed.

The Care Plan — optional

Hosting, security updates, weekly backups, and up to thirty minutes of changes each month: new hours, a seasonal photo, a price that went up. Cancel any time, and the site stays yours.

$50 / month
Add it on

Prices are for the build described. Photography, logo design, paid stock and third-party subscriptions (booking software, payment processing) are billed at cost and always shown to you first. Domain and hosting run roughly $15–$25 a month if you'd rather manage them yourself.

Before you apply

The questions I get most

I don't have photos, a logo, or any idea what to write.

Almost nobody does. I'll write the first draft of every page from our call, and you edit it — reacting to words on a page is far easier than producing them.

For photos, I'll send you a short shot list and the two or three settings that make phone photos look good. If your business really needs a photographer, I'll say so and help you find one.

Do I have to host with you?

No. The Care Plan is optional and always has been. If you'd rather handle it yourself, I'll set everything up under your own accounts, hand you the logins, and show you where the bills come from. Roughly $15–$25 a month, depending on what the site does.

What do you actually need from me?

About an hour, total: a twenty-minute call, twenty minutes looking at the preview link, and twenty minutes of notes. Everything else — domains, hosting, Google, the writing, the technical parts nobody enjoys — is mine.

What if I already have a website?

Then we start by being honest about whether it needs replacing or just fixing. Sometimes the answer is a few hundred dollars of repair work instead of a rebuild, and I'll tell you that rather than sell you a package you don't need.

Do we have to meet in person?

No. The whole build runs on a video call, a private preview link and email, so we can work together wherever you are. If meeting face to face is easy for both of us, I'm glad to — walking a shop floor tells me things a call never will — but nothing about the price or the timeline depends on it. If you're in a very different time zone, say so on the form and we'll pick call times that don't ruin anyone's morning.

How do payments work?

Half to reserve your build slot, half on launch day. Two ways to pay it: card or bank transfer through Stripe — I send a link, it takes a minute and you never hand me a card number — or cash, if that's simpler for you. No checks.

Either way you get an itemised invoice, and nothing gets billed that wasn't agreed on the call. The Care Plan, if you add it, bills monthly through Stripe and you can cancel it yourself any time.

What happens when I need changes later?

Small changes are covered by the Care Plan. Bigger ones — a new section, a second location, an online store added a year in — get quoted as their own small project, at a price you approve before I touch anything.

Why an application instead of just booking a call?

Because I only take a few builds at a time, and because the wrong fit wastes your afternoon as much as mine. The form tells me what you sell, what you need and when — enough to know whether I'm the right person before either of us gets on a call. If I'm not, I'll say so and point you somewhere better.

Let's find out if we're a fit

The form takes about four minutes. If it looks like a match, I'll email you within two business days to set up the call. If it isn't, I'll tell you that too — and point you somewhere that is.
